She was so friendly, too. After only an hour, I felt like Rebecca had become our friend, engaging even in non-medical related conversations. This is also where she stood out the most.
I had to be induced at midnight and Rebecca was my assigned nurse for that night/day shift. Being hooked up to so many different things and having to get up to use the restroom just about every 5-10 minutes, Rebecca was so incredibly kind, understanding, and attentive. She never made me feel like a nuisance and was on hand immediately if I needed her. With my contractions, monitoring, calling for an epidural, etc. She was responsive and acted with the utmost integrity and professionalism. I want her to know just how much I appreciated ALL she did for me (and the fact she had to leave literally an hour and a half before the baby was born after tending to me for 12+ hours). I feel that is why Rebecca should be recognized. She helped ensure I delivered a healthy, happy baby boy.

My husband and I welcomed our daughter at 9:02 pm. I went in that day with a planned induction. We were greeted by Rebecca, who informed me that she would be our nurse that day. Rebecca was so calm and collected, making both my husband and I very comfortable. She answered all of our questions (even my husband’s request to learn to read the monitors.) She was so friendly, too. After only an hour, I felt like Rebecca had become our friend, engaging even in non-medical related conversations. This is also where she stood out the most. Her shift was scheduled to end at 7 pm. Right at 7, my doctor,  who is absolutely amazing, suggested I start pushing. After having spent all day with us, Rebecca did not want to miss the birth of our daughter. She stayed with us until she arrived. We could not believe that Rebecca spent nearly 2 extra hours of her time with us despite having her own two kids at home. She also remained so calm during a time when my blood pressure & baby’s heart rate dropped. She is an amazing nurse, and I hope to see her again someday.
