Rebecca has the skills of listening to patients and educating patients to provide optimal care.
1. Since Rebecca started in our department earlier this year, she has introduced a level of caring and meeting the needs required of cancer patients. In addition to being kind and courteous to our patients, Rebecca takes the additional time needed with patients that forms a bond between patient and nurse. Whenever transport is short-handed or behind schedule, Rebecca is the first person to ask if she can go to the floor to pick up the patients for their treatment and return the patients back to their rooms. Rebecca is aware of the importance of working as a team, and her efforts make our Radiation Oncology department a pleasant place for our patients. Rebecca has worked with cancer patients over the past several years in the infusion center. We have all recognized what a special nurse she has been to her patients. So, when we had an opening for a nurse position, it was unanimous on who our choice would be. Rebecca has the skills of listening to patients and educating patients to provide optimal care.
2. Rebecca demonstrates what it is to be an outstanding nurse. She shows great compassion to our patients and their family members. She has the kindness and empathy that makes all of our patients feel comfortable while in her care. Rebecca always goes above and beyond to make all of her patients have the best experience possible. She is a great role model to her coworkers.
3. Rebecca always goes above and beyond for her patients and for her coworkers. I have had the pleasure of working with Rebecca since May, and she always demonstrates UMC's core values; she is always available when a patient is in need and always willing to lend a hand when we are in need. I am very happy to nominate Rebecca and believe she deserves the DAISY Award wholeheartedly!
