My mother had been in and out of WellSpan Hospitals since March. She had various procedures and finally, she started chemotherapy treatments. She reentered Chambersburg in August due to complications from chemo. Sunday, her 71st birthday, we were informed that she would enter Hospice Care.
My dad always gave her flowers on her birthday and wanted to get her some that day; they had been married 52 years in May. Then he realized that it was Sunday and that the gift shop was closed. He was upset and was telling everyone, visitors and nurses of Mom's, his story. He was then called out of the room and Rachel presented him with a fresh bouquet of red roses that my dad could give to mom. He was elated with joy.
Rachel went above and beyond expectations of not only caring for my mother but to also see that my dad was happy and taken care of. She was even in the meeting with the family when we were informed that there was nothing else that could be done for my mom. Rachel had also relayed to us to keep a close eye on my dad that he was complaining of some chest pains earlier in the day.
Rachel is a very caring person and a dedicated nurse. On behalf of myself and my family, we Thank You!
