... I have a 17 year old daughter whose name is Daisy. She graduated from Webster Groves High School in May and will be pursuing a nursing degree in the fall.

On April 18th of this year, she was heading to school on a stormy, nasty, morning. At the intersection of Clayton and Big Bend, she was in a horrible accident that required immediate attention.

Her guardian angel jumped into action. Upon seeing no one stop to lend a hand, this angle noticed smoke coming from the car; she came up to my daughter who was unconscious and bleeding from the mouth. She reached in, assessed the severity of the situation and pulled Daisy out the drivers' window, without regard to the storm pouring down, the rush hour traffic or her personal well-being.

This angel's name is Rachel Solomon, and she works for Barnes Jewish Hospital - as a cardiothoracic nurse. How lucky you are- how lucky her patients are, and how lucky are the doctors that work with her.

I hope and pray that as Daisy hones her skills in nursing, that she will possess these fine qualities like Rachael has. I also wish that as she gains employment in her field, she will work for a superior hospital such as yours.

I tell my employees that in order to achieve perfection, one must keep the company of those that have high moral standards, strong ethical beliefs, love the work they do, and pass on these qualities.

You are lucky to have Rachel as a member of you staff. Treat her well, for she is our guardian angel.
