Rachel had heard that I was very concerned about a knot on my head and pressure in my left eye and she called me herself with concern and comforting words and made sure I had spoken with the surgeon. Once again she went far and beyond with her genuine love, patient concern, and compassion.
I am 68 years old and I have had cataract surgery. I am a very nervous type of individual. Upon my arrival for my first surgery on my right eye I had several different nurses assist me but Rachel came to my need and with her soft gentle manners; she quickly calmed my nervousness completely down. After my surgery she was waiting patiently for me to come out and there she was with a smile and a cup of coffee in hand. Her love, care, and concern were greatly appreciated by me and my family.

Two weeks later, I had to go in for my second eye cataract surgery. Once again I was very nervous but as I looked up there Rachel was coming up by my bedside saying hello, everything's going to be okay and again she's totally eased my nervousness and made me feel very comfortable. Some may say this is just a small ordeal to go through but it was my ordeal and it was huge to me.

The Pavilion called me the next day to see how I was doing and I shared with them I'd had a little knot come up on my head and they advised me to call the surgeon, which I did. Apparently, Rachel had heard that I was very concerned about a knot on my head and pressure in my left eye and she called me herself with concern and comforting words and made sure I had spoken with the surgeon. Once again she went far and beyond with her genuine love, patient concern, and compassion. It is a great honor to be able to nominate such an awesome nurse filled with much compassion, love, and knowledge that all must go hand in hand in today's society. I wasn't just a number or a dollar bill for her, I was a nervous 68-year-old high-strung lady. Rachel is definitely an angel on Earth and I am greatly appreciative of her bedside manners and compassion. She is truly an extraordinary nurse by far. May God continue to have such devoted nurses such as Rachel in our hour of need. Thank you again for this opportunity and may God bless you abundantly.
