I wanted to tell you that you have some fantastic employees!
My father came to your facility early in the morning with a massive heart attack. This by far has been the scariest moment in my life and my father means the world to me.
My mother arrived at the hospital with my dad. Unfortunately, my sister and I live out of state and my mom was left to sit in the waiting room until I arrived.
I would like to recognize Paul (Nurse in CCU) as Paul was the first person I met in the CCU and he was very compassionate towards my mom, myself and most importantly my dad. Paul did a fantastic job describing what was going on and reassured us that we just had to be patient and Paul told us success stories of other patients that had the same thing happen as my dad. Paul would go out of his way to make sure we were informed and comfortable with everything he was doing with my dad. Paul exceeded every requirement for the DAISY Award, and I plan on nominating him.
P- Paul had a passion for not only making sure my dad was well taken care of but also my mom and myself.
E- Empathy was shown as he kept telling us that if his loved one was in the same situation as my dad that he would be doing the same things as us.
T- Trust, Paul did a fantastic job not only showing us his trust that my dad was being taken care of the best he possibly could but by using his skills to keep the teamwork up as my dad was in the CCU over a week and had multiple nurses working on him.
A- Paul showed great amounts of admirable attributes as he genuinely cared for us and my dad. Paul is well respected by the team members, and we felt by talking to other staff members that we had the best nurse in the CCU!
L- Paul showed his love for being a nurse and love for our family that really can't be explained in words as it was him just being him which brought a sense of comfort.
S- Paul was very selfless as he stayed by my dad's side for his entire 12-hour shift and even stayed late on several occasions to make sure my dad was well taken care of.
