My dad shared his stories, photos, and life memories with Lucy, and she listened and enjoyed her time with him.
Lucy took care of my father, during his time on Lunder 9. He was admitted to Lunder 9 until he was transferred to the ICU, where he was in critical care until he passed away. During my dad's stay on Lunder 9, he always talked about Lucy and what an impeccable nurse she was. Not only did she constantly check on my father, but she treated him like her own family member, which meant the world to me and my family. My dad was alone in the hospital during the holidays (as visitors were not allowed) and his English was not great when it came to medical terminology. Lucy was the only person who was able to hold my dad's hand when alone fighting this vicious, virus COVID, and she made him feel at ease when he thought he was dying. It was beyond difficult to be at home, far away from our loved one, and it meant the world that Lucy was able to be there for my dad when we physically couldn't.

My dad loved Lucy, and there is no way we can repay her for how she helped my family - most importantly, my dad. She went above and beyond. My dad shared his stories, photos, and life memories with Lucy, and she listened and enjoyed her time with him. I was lucky enough to meet Lucy when I was allowed a one-time exception to see my father near the end of his life. I was thankful for the time I got to spend with my dad that day and also for being able to meet Lucy, whom he spoke so highly of.

Lucy, thank you for everything you did for my dad. He always felt safe when you were his nurse and always looked forward to your shift. He said you were beyond the best nurse and he enjoyed his time spent with you. Thank you, Lucy, for being the true hero and for being there for my dad (my hero) when I couldn't be.
