Without hesitation, Pablo not only came to the bedside and spoke with the patient, but he stayed with him until he got taken back to his room on 2H.
There was a TGHP patient that came to me in PACU that was Spanish-speaking only accompanied by 2 officers (non—Spanish speaking). The patient woke up confused, scared, and became combative. Pablo had brought a patient to Stage 2 and was heading back toward the OR when he noticed what was going on. I walked over to him and asked if he would mind translating. Without hesitation, Pablo not only came to the bedside and spoke with the patient, but he stayed with him until he got taken back to his room on 2H.

The patient only became combative because he woke up from anesthesia and did not know where he was or what was going on, and he had 2 officers holding him down, and nobody knew what he was saying. After he realized what was going on, he began to apologize to the officers and to myself. Pablo went way above and beyond what I had asked him to do. I’ve worked with Pablo for 2 years now and he is always so kind, and genuine, and never complains when you ask him to translate even when it is not his patient. Before he walks away, he’ll ask if you have any questions for him. If he is walking by and sees us trying to get an IV on a patient, he will stop and help.

Pablo is the cream of the crop and I thoroughly enjoy working with him. He is such an asset to our Team in 3F.
