Nikki is a bar that every nurse should shoot for
My hubby has stage 4 cancer, so to say we have some experience with hospitals is something of an understatement. We required the services of Aurora BayCare ER in May. His father died in Marquette at 11:27 am, for which we drove from Virginia to be there. Within 2 hours of his father's passing, L (my hubby) needed an ER. Your facility came highly recommended, so we made the 3-hour-drive. After the ER he was admitted. On his 1st full day of admission, Dr. B inserted a stent in his duodenum. Nikki, his primary nurse, knew of the sad situation with his dad. She was empathetic without overdoing it. Her cheerful personality made a difficult day/situation MUCH easier to deal with. She was on the ball with EVERYTHING. And even though she had many more patients she made him feel like he was the most important person in the hospital. Honestly, sometimes he can be grumpy and even occasionally forget his manners. She took it all in stride and gave him the absolute best possible care he could ever receive. I'm grateful for the wonderful care he's received, and Nikki is a bar that every nurse should shoot for. She's wonderful at explaining in plain English, accommodating, knowledgeable, empathetic, efficient and she listens to her patients! Bravo, Nikki!
