We had 3 nurses in rotation taking care of my husband that came in for stone removal. Nicole, while having a trainee, was extremely professional. She made sure she was diligent in asking all the appropriate questions and making sure everything was properly updated into the system. She made my husband and me feel very comfortable and comforted. We were both very nervous about what was going on, but Nicole took the time to make light of the situation while being professional and with integrity. She made sure my husband had his pain medication so that he was comfortable.
Nicole took the time to find common ground with my husband, noticing he was an Alabama fan, as was she. That further made my husband feel comfortable. My husband is terrified of needles and his original IV started puffing up and was bleeding. Nicole was very prompt and was careful about removing the old IV and starting a new one. Through conversation and laughter, she managed to start a new IV line on is non-dominant hand. Having it on this hand made it feel so much better for my husband. My husband could not thank Nicole enough for the new IV line.
Anytime we needed updates, she made sure we got them. I have dealt with a lot of nurses and Nicole, by far has been the most pleasant and caring one I have had the pleasure to have. She is also such a breath of fresh air with her personality. I can't thank her enough for all her care and compassion for my husband. Also, for making sure I was ok as well, even though I was not the patient.
