Nathan goes above and beyond when it comes to patient care. He has been recognized by patients for his willingness to take the time to explain what he is doing and to explain procedures in detail. He approaches each patient with a positive and energetic attitude.
Nathan leads by example. He recently stepped into the role of patient flow supervisor and he handles the challenges of this position with ease. During his shifts as PFS, he can be found supporting our new charge nurses. Nathan will also go out of his way to frequently check in on our nurses who have floated to the ED and are not familiar with their surroundings. He is a great teacher and goes out of his way to share his knowledge in a positive, professional and upbeat manner. Nathan is supporting the generation of newer nurses and has recently become a mentor to one of our new grads.
One PFS wrote, "Nathan was a gracious team player in helping to take on 4 admits straight from the get-go. Even with 2 hospital transfers that did not go as smoothly as planned, he did an excellent job communicating issues to me in a constructive manner, as well as demonstrating great teamwork. Even after a tough night, Nathan made himself available for overtime to help cover our extreme shortage of staff."
Nathan is caring, compassionate, and flexible. He provides extraordinary care to patients and is a role model to his peers. Nathan truly embodies the Patients Are First Initiative and is an asset to our team. He does what is best for his patients and makes the most of every day.
