Morgan was the primary care nurse during my mother’s visit to Pocono Same Day Surgery. My mother, a woman in her middle 80s, had significant anxiety regarding her biopsy. This anxiety was reflected in her vitals, as she was uneasy with being in the hospital and from anticipating the procedure. Morgan showed extraordinary care throughout the day. Always attentive and professional, but Morgan is also exceptionally warm and caring. Morgan cleverly used conversation to ease tensions. She clearly explained hospital process and medical next steps. Morgan spoke in the proper tone and context for a patient of this age and anxiety. Following the biopsy, there was a minor complication. This put us into that familiar hospital cycle of consult, x-ray, wait, consult, procedure, and repeat all within the Same Day Surgery center. Through this 11-hour process, Morgan was our trusted guide and cared for my mother’s personal and medical needs. Morgan is an extraordinary communicator and someone who clearly cares about her work and her patients. Through conduct, communication, and professional skill, Morgan represents a guiding star for your nursing staff. She’s not one to idle in the nursing station or be seen checking her social media half-hiding in the hallway. Morgan works her floor and attends to her patients diligently and with purpose. She’s a keeper and hopefully will be recognized for effortlessly demonstrating nursing care over and above what is normally expected.
