T was a 32-year-old we had on hospice for a short period of time. T's mom, stated that while T was in a different hospital her hair became matted and tangled. She had talked to the nurses and even the physicians about it because she knew T would not want it to be like that. She stated nobody ever did anything with her hair during that hospital stay. She said she knew it was not a medical concern but it bothered her because she knew it would bother T.
When T was transported home, the Hospice nurses came to see her, she loved them all. However, when Monica came she had voiced her concern about T's hair, Monica combed her tangled and matted hair. Mom said that T was too weak to say much but she did say "thank you" to Monica and she smiled. That meant the most to her. She told me that it must have been meant to be because T died the next day with her hair fixed.
