When my grandmother was admitted onto this floor from the ED, Michelle was amazing. She listened fully and completely to our recall of her history and seemed completely in control and knowledgeable about her plan of care. Later, the admission nurse came to apologize; my grandmother had been transported to the wrong room! She handled an unexpected admission without report like a champ! Michelle never let on that she was not expecting my grandmother or that she had not gotten report. She made sure my grandmother was safe and comfortable before leaving the room. As a nursing student myself, I can recognize excellent nursing skills. She is the kind of nurse I want to be. Even after my grandmother's surgery, when she was not her nurse, she checked in on both my grandmother and the family. Thank you, Michelle, keep doing what you are doing!

Our 95-year-old mother asked that we thank her nurse, Michelle. She was her night nurse. When my sister and I came in the morning, Mom could not stop talking about her and how wonderful she was. Mom said she was in lots of pain and she seemed to know just what to do. She arranged her in the bed in a way that mom was actually comfortable. Mom wanted a pen and paper to write her a note and we told her about the DAISY Award. My sister and I met her as shifts were changing one night. She immediately ran to Mom, crouched down to bed level, and greeted her warmly, asking how she was, clearly pleased to be Mom's nurse again. We were also glad she was Mom's nurse. My sister commented on her blend of tender care with skilled professionalism.
