Michelle was absolutely incredible. She was caring, kind, compassionate, and dedicated to my delivery. Michelle's shift started at 7 am when I was being induced. Throughout the day Michelle was constantly checking in on my husband and me and was always willing to answer any questions that I had. Since this was my first baby I was nervous and did not know exactly what to expect. Michelle's calm and caring manner helped me to feel at ease. After laboring all day I began pushing at 3:30 pm. Michelle was there with me for three hours of pushing. It became clear that the baby was not dropping and Michelle and the doctor talked to me about a C-section. I was very scared and upset about having to consider this option. It was now 6:30 pm and I knew Michelle's shift was about to end. As I was crying and upset about having a C-section Michelle provided me support and answered the questions I had to help ease my anxiety. As I was getting ready to be moved to the operating room Michelle said that she was going to stay with us and help with the delivery even though it was now 7:30 pm and her shift had ended. Knowing that Michelle, who had been with me all day and with whom I was so comfortable, was going to be with me during the C-section was incredibly reassuring. Throughout the surgery and post-surgery Michelle was always there. She did not go home until about 11 pm that night and I knew had to start her next shift at 7 am the next morning. This level of dedication and compassion Michelle showed me was above and beyond anything I could have asked for.
