He not only treated my best friend with dignity and respect, but he did the same to all of her family members and friends who were there to visit.
Matthew has been the assigned nurse for my best friend E, for at least five consecutive days, while she has been a patient in the ICU. He has been very caring and compassionate. Whenever you ask Matt a question about E and how she is doing, he answers the questions with clarity so you can understand the process every step of the way. He not only treated my best friend with dignity and respect, but he did the same to all of her family members and friends who were there to visit. When it was time to remove her from the intubation, Matthew explained what he was doing and what to expect. He provided her with comfort care and whatever else she needed to put her at ease, because clearly, she was having a lot of discomfort because of her condition. Matt was kind enough to bring us all beverages as we waited for our dear E to close her eyes one last time. When I left by 6pm she was resting peacefully due to some medicines that he gave her, but she is a fighter so she wasn’t going to go out without a fight. Thank you Matt, for all you have done this past week. You are truly deserving of this recognition for your efforts, your kindness, and your ability to do your job well and go above and beyond.
