I would not want anyone else caring for my husband. Mary comes in singing and chatting. On occasion, she will even stop and bring his favorite sandwich.
It is impossible to summarize in a few words what kind of nurse Mary Palmer is to the homecare of the VNA. Mary started with the VNA almost two years ago. She has from the beginning devoted herself to caring for this unique and complex group of patients. She is a born leader and has made countless contributions to make the VNA and team o61 what it is today. She was one of Ohio's few covid swat team members during the beginning and has been instrumental in this role embracing the challenges and change with innovative strategies. Mary’s most notable quality is her leadership skills. In addition to the covid swat team, she has also volunteered to be a preceptor to multiple new team o61 nurses. In this role, she has been able to show the nurses what homecare is all about and what the nursing role means to the community. Mary has been an invaluable team member as well. Mary works tirelessly to make sure all patients are covered and cared for even if it means working late. The other team members will reach out to Mary for guidance and education when they have questions. She will help when asked. Her patients love her and feel they are treated like family. She is the kind of nurse I would want for my family. I am honored to have Mary on my team and I see a bright future for her. Simply put mary is an Extraordinary Nurse. I have received many compliments from patients. “Mary is the best. I would not want anyone else caring for my husband. She comes in singing and chatting. On occasion, she will even stop and bring his favorite sandwich. My husband loves the days that Mary comes even if it is just to perform wound care. I can see his eyes light up when she walks in. I want to thank her for giving the best care. I don’t know where we would be without Mary.”
