Being diagnosed with cancer is like a bazooka landing in your living room. Believe it or not, there are silver linings, like meeting Extraordinary Nurses (angels) who carry you through and make those long grueling chemo days full of uncertainty and pain with heartfelt conversations and laughs. Mary Jane did that for me and my young daughter. We developed a special bond. She even came by late at night after her long shift to see me when I had my bilateral mastectomy and lymph node dissection surgery. I was in awe and forever grateful for what she and another nurse did for me that very difficult year. Mary Jane has gone into work and taken care of patients in her MaryJane joyful and special fashion. She’s truly my hero.
