Marsha's work ethic in the academic arena at both FSU and TMH is both flawless and admirable.
Through this dual role, Marsha has impacted our next generation of nurses with her tireless commitment to teaching, mentoring, and guiding their future paths. She designed and implemented the first Summer Nursing Internship Program with 30 participants during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Summer of 2020. This year she received over 60 applications with 41 excited Nurse Interns starting for the summer of 2021.

Marsha makes it her mission to get to know her students, and all the Summer Nurse Interns, attempting to find the best placement possible for them to learn and grow. Marsha has an incredible rapport with all the students she encounters, whether in clinical rotation, visiting schools to discuss career opportunities, or interviewing potential graduate nurses. Her approach is that of a nurturing ‘mother’ who cares deeply for their wellbeing, establishing trusting relationships with them, and making them feel comfortable asking questions and learning from her. She is honest about providing feedback and her students attest to her open dialogue with them and helpful guidance.

In her Liaison role, Marsha has forged academic relationships with Florida State University, Tallahassee Community College, FAMU, Keiser, Madison, and many other surrounding schools. Her work ethic in the academic arena at both FSU and TMH is both flawless and admirable; you can always count on her to follow through with commitments to her students and her fellow colleagues. She always seems deeply excited and truly engaged in student projects and engagement initiatives. Marsha has truly found her calling in academic leadership and is so deserving of the first-ever TMH DAISY Award for Extraordinary Faculty. Congratulations!
