June is one of a strong team of LPNs in our Urgent Care at Port Orchard. She is compassionate, understanding, and demonstrates a high level of accountability to her team and our patients.

Recently, June was recognized by a member of our provider team for her “Quick Thinking” :

“Last night, a patient called seemingly confused as to why he called. June kept him on the phone while she alerted another staff member to call the police and 911 to go to the patient’s address to do a health and comfort check. The patient was transported to the ER and admitted. Our patient care doesn’t start with us doing vital signs or when the provider walks into the exam room. Every phone call is just as important! I cried when June was telling me! I did! Ask June!”

This situation is a perfect example of June’s superior clinical skills and her ability to recognize a patient in distress. What wasn’t said in the above excerpt is that the patient actually stopped talking to June on the phone and became non-responsive. June kept the phone line open until the police arrived and discovered the patient. After trying to revive the individual without success, police called Emergency Medical Responders for assistance and transport.

June can credit her clinical skills and abilities to her education, but that is not what drives June to put on her scrubs and clock in when scheduled. June possesses a true desire to make a difference in people’s lives by treating them with kindness, fairness, and respect as part of our medical team.

June also recognizes that her successes are not just based on her skills. As a team, far more can be accomplished than just by her individual efforts. She encourages and grows that culture here in our Port Orchard Urgent Care.

With great admiration and confidence, I nominate June for the prestigious DAISYAward.
