Mai is an amazing nurse. She is so smart and is a fabulous teacher. She has precepted many of our new nurses and does so with patience and grace.
Mai takes care of our little ones and their families in the NICU with great compassion and empathy. She makes sure she communicates well with the family. She is very patient and gentle to overwhelmed parents developing a trusting relationship between NICU and the families. She makes sure our babies are taken care of. If she sees a colleague running behind due to some unexpected situation, she always steps up to help to make sure our babies are changed, fed on time, and given their medications on time.

As a charge nurse, she also makes sure that her team is taken care of. She always offers help, she makes sure we take our breaks and she makes sure everyone eats lunch. If she sees a fellow nurse "drowning", she is there ready to help in any way she can. She will take an additional assignment if she has to without hesitation and without complaint.

Mai is an amazing nurse. She is so smart and is a fabulous teacher. She has precepted many of our new nurses and does so with patience and grace. She understands the why behind our practices and is able to teach in a way most others can't. She goes above and beyond for our families. Recently, Mai became certified to take photos of babies who are dying or who have passed. This amazing service gives families the opportunity to keep a memento of their baby. She recently went to a two-day conference on perinatal bereavement and will be in charge of our bereavement program.

I regret not sending this nomination letter a while ago. I also believe my coworkers feel the same way. I am very blessed to have worked alongside Mai for many years. I have witnessed her selfless attitude at work. She is compassionate and dedicated to providing excellent care to our little patients and parents. She makes sure the parents are informed and can be involved in caring for their babies. She is a great advocate for our babies who don't have a voice. I admired Mai because even when she has a busy assignment, she always asks every nurse if they need help. I am comforted to have her in my pad because if I need help, she will help me. Most of our work in the NICU is team-based and she makes me feel proud to be in the NICU team to give excellent care to our little patients and to care for their parents. Again, thank you Mai for being an example of exemplary service and continued commitment to excellence. Mai, you are a great blessing to our NICU and to HHS.
