How can I ever find the words to say to a wonderful, great nurse that became a rock for me to lean on. The one that had to answer my questions, one right after another. Thank you is not even enough.
I had my son B in the ICU. He was a very, very sick man at 36-years-old. Madison took the time to have a heart-to-heart talk with him several times to explain to him that everyone has a problem we have to battle with. She didn't baby him, she argued with him to make sure he would be okay. I left to go home Tuesday, my son was very sick, every organ was failing. Whatever could be wrong was wrong. My husband and I left and told them we had to go and rest for a couple of hours. I told them if something happened to call us. He was in critical shape, but they were helping him to rest.
Wednesday morning when I and my mother walked into the ICU and saw my son on the vent, it brought me down to my knees. I felt like someone had ripped my heart out. I was screaming softly what happened to my baby. You all said he would be fine until I got back to him. Someone grabbed me and cuddled me in her arms saying it will be ok. "I was right with him, I was the one that put him on the vent, I explained everything to him. We did it so his body could rest and heal."
I was led to the top of B's bed and was told to touch him and to talk to him because he could hear me. Who was right there with me and his 80-year-old grandmother, no one but Madison. Madison was so compassionate from the beginning to the end, even when she came back from her days off and worked the other side. She would come to check on B, me and the rest of my family. She took the time to set me and my husband down and explain everything. She would bring us extra trays if they had any because I never left him!

Madison is the most outstanding and extraordinary nurse we have meet in a long while. She went out of her way to make sure we knew anything and everything. She made me feel like I was her only favorite patient. I truly appreciate our bond, thank you. I will always remember you, thank you for your caring, going out of your way for my mom and grandmother!
If anyone had to put me on life support, I couldn't have asked for anyone nicer and concern. She went out of her way with me in so many ways. I feel like I have made a friend for life.
