I felt as though Louise made my whole birth experience feel individual and like my own. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and she went above and beyond.
I have never felt more protected, cared for, and supported by any health professional as much as I have with Louise. I felt like a person and not a patient.
I had my son at 25+5 due to preeclampsia, low amniotic fluid, and a poor placenta. Louise started her shift on the day I gave birth and kept me updated, calmly talking through all the details of my c-section and birth and the ongoing work plans.

Prior to my birth, Louise spoke to me about what I wanted to do before and how I wanted my birth to go. I honestly thought this wasn’t going to happen due to being an emergency, but Louise encouraged and empowered me to make my son’s birth memorable. We picked music, and Louise took photos whilst I was having my c-section.

Louise also supported both my partner and my mum prior to, during, and after birth. Louise saw that my partner was anxious and helped him through it, giving him the motivation to be strong and support me through the c-section. Louise went straight to find my mum after my c-section to assure her everything went well.

Since my birth, Louise has kept in touch to make sure, my partner, my son, and I are okay. I felt as though Louise made my whole birth experience feel individual and like my own. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and she went above and beyond.

Myself, my family and my new son could not be more thankful that Louise was our midwife that day and I will always remember how she supported me and my son. I will forever be grateful for everything she has done.
