Lisa always showed her patients and their family members that she had the time to devote to each and every one of them, and their needs.
How can I accurately describe Lisa? As a brand new mental health nurse, I would observe the way she would interact with her patients and their family members. She always showed her patients and their family members that she had the time to devote to each and every one of them, and their needs. Families often remember Lisa as a nurse and how she is always calm, always positive, and always helpful. I look to Lisa throughout the day for a calming “look” or a quick “You’ve got this,” and somehow it would set the tone for a wonderful day. Lisa has worked at Bryan for more than 10 years. She is truly the best nurse “wingman” anyone can work with, and the best nurse a patient could hope to have. For all of these years, she has lived by Bryan’s core values every day. Please consider acknowledging Lisa for her quiet strength that has carried so many of us staff and patients.

***

Lisa is the type of nurse you hope your family member would have. She is caring, kind, and a great communicator, and the most patient nurse I have met. She has a “can-do” attitude and has a way with the most challenging patients. There are times I would struggle with a patient not taking their meds and she would swoop in, talk with the patient and next thing you know the patient is taking their meds. She is a team player, always jumping up to help. She can read situations well and knows when to step in or out. She is dependable, never late, and never complains. She approaches each patient with respect and takes her time with them. She is the type of person who would never want recognition or need recognition but that is even more reason for her to know she is appreciated. I can’t think of a more deserving nurse to be recognized!
