On May 5, 2016, during nurse?s week, there were many activities that had been planned to celebrate nurses. At the end of the week we had an open house and invited all the LPN?s in the Douglas County to come and check out our Kaplan nursing campus. Since this year?s theme was ?Culture of Safety? the students created posters regarding various safety topics such as bike safety, fall prevention, weather alerts, and needle safety. At the end of the day, we had our ceremony for the DAISY Faculty Award nominees. First, we announced the nominees from both the Lincoln and Omaha campuses. Then, the winner from each campus was announced. This year?s winner from Omaha was Lisa Rieke. Lisa is a new faculty member.  She has not even been working for Kaplan for a year and she has already found her way into our hearts and is well liked with the students. She brings much creativity and skill to clinical sites and lab experiences.
