I had the opportunity to meet Linda when I had my son a couple of years ago. Most people would say it's easy to have an amazing experience at the hospital when you're welcoming a new life into the world, but Linda made this entire experience so pleasant and comforting. It is very apparent that she truly cares about her patients and their loved ones, and nursing is her passion. My situation is unique in that I had the pleasure of having Linda as my nurse, and now I am able to work with her occasionally during phase one recoveries of our C-section patients. I am able to personally witness Linda providing outstanding care to mothers, infants, and their loved ones. I can only imagine that working on a Birthplace unit would be challenging, and full of happiness as well as sadness. Linda is always positive and gives the same care to every patient she comes in contact with. It is truly amazing seeing a nurse who puts their entire being into her work. I have never heard a nurse say "thank you" to their patient every time they leave the room until I met Linda.
Not only is she compassionate and caring for patients and their loved ones, but she is very kind to fellow colleagues as well. Linda is extremely helpful and is always willing to work as a team in order to provide the best patient care. Linda inspires other nurses to remember why they chose nursing as a profession and then serves as a reminder to always be compassionate and caring to our patients and their loved ones, without even realizing her impact on us. Linda's passion for nursing is evident in how she leaves a lasting impression on everyone she comes in contact with. It is somewhat difficult to put into words just how amazing Linda is, both as a nurse and a human being. While Linda may think she is ordinary, she is truly an extraordinary nurse. Thank you, Linda, for everything you do for our patients, their families, and our hospital.
