Laura has been the person to make me smile every time I have to go into the infusion center. It was very life-changing for me when I found out I was going to be getting a PICC line with intravenous medication. This meant frequent visits to the outpatient infusion center at Essentia in Fargo.
Laura was always there to greet me. I felt special when I would walk in and she would say, "Hey, girly." Being popular in the infusion center is not the dream of any 21-year-old patient, but it made my three trips a day less miserable. She was there for me to listen to me complain and she was there for me during my breakdowns. She was great at communicating everything that she was doing. She wanted to make sure I was getting the best care possible. She made me laugh and smile.
Even though I am excited to hopefully be done with my infusion center visits shortly, I will miss Laura. I will always remember her as the bright ray of sunshine in my unexpected health journey. I just really want her to know what an impact she is making on the lives of her patients. Her long hours and dedication to her patients cannot go unnoticed. I know that she doesn't just treat me like I'm important. She treats every patient like they are the most important person in the world. She probably thinks she is just doing her job. She didn't have to go so above and beyond, but she did anyway. I will always remember Laura.
