Lateef takes the time each day to deliver compassionate care, often calling these imamates by their first name, and there are hundreds of them.
During COVID, Lateef Okuribido has been an example of what the true definition of a nurse is in correctional health. I round every day on the west tower. Every time I am in his tower watching him work with COVID patients he has been respectful and kind to these inmates. He does not see a man behind bars, he sees a person sick and alone. Lateef takes the time each day to deliver compassionate care, often calling these imamates by their first name, and there are hundreds of them. He brings smiles to their faces and warmth to their hearts, all while executing his duties. He does not complain about working with COVID patients he just puts on his mask and goes out to serve those in need without any thought of what is going on in this jail. He is a model nurse for how we should all be in a time of crisis.
Thank you for all you do in this jail, and for being the breath of fresh air we all need at this time.
