Private C, an infantry soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces, recognized Larry after arriving at the RAH ER with a double fractured ankle Larry not only changed his night from being filled with nerve-wracking wait times and mind-numbing technical information he was very quick to provide calming uplifting care whenever given the opportunity. Larry explained to him what was going on and what care he needed. Private C said that Larry "put smiles on other patients close by me as well by going out of his way to quickly answer any questions or adjust their positioning for comfort without needing to be asked to do so while still administering the care they needed in a timely fashion. Larry's delicate gentleness while applying a cast to his double fractured highly pain sensitive ankle was very impressive" and Private C felt "he was in very experienced and educated hands." Private C was so happy with the remarkable experience with such a glowing man named Larry that he plans on sharing his story with his home newspaper. He also praised the leadership team responsible for finding and hiring such a talent. Private C said that "watching Larry inspire smiles on both staff and patients alike was truly beautiful to witness and I hope that I can take as much pride and intellect in my career as Larry does. Larry single-handedly turned not only my night but from what I saw, I'm sure, many others into a good one."
