I am so grateful that Kristin was not deterred and has ended up where she belongs, doing what she is supposed to be doing.
On Friday I walked into the ER after noticing that my urine was tea colored. My diagnosis was Rhabdomyolysis, so I need to stay in the hospital for several days. Throughout my 8 hour visit, Kristin utilized her knowledge, experience, and sense of humor to keep me calm and quell my fears. Kristin's intuition told her she had to connect a bit more with me, and she shared stories of her own life, her previous experience with the same diagnosis and most movingly, how she had initially not been accepted into nursing school. This really struck me. How could such an intuitive and skilled medical professional have been temporarily prevented from reaching her goal?

I am so grateful that Kristin was not deterred and has ended up where she belongs, doing what she is supposed to be doing. Everything she did from drawing blood to explaining the finer points of my ailment was a clear indicator that she is doing exactly what she was meant to do with her life. Don't let me mislead you, she wasn't perfect; she was just in her element. As someone whose mother is a nurse, I can confidently say that Kristin embodied a good bedside manner. What seemed most true about my experience with Kristin was that she wasn't performing or trying to be anything she wasn't. She was just herself; a true healer of heart, mind, and body.
