It only took one shift to feel that Kristin Owen was one of the kindest, most caring, attentive, and hardworking nurses on the entire third floor, specifically the mom and baby unit. She always came in with a smile and a nurturing attitude throughout her 12 hours with me. Never did I once feel like a bother or that I asked a question that was too dumb or irrelevant or one that she didn’t hastily do her best to answer or find an answer for me. I divulged a very personal fear I was feeling to her and not only did she listen dutifully but she was very understanding, genuine, and comforting in her response and reply to my fears. From then she did her very best to keep that in mind for the rest of my stay while she was with me. She set a good example to other staff who accompanied her throughout the day and her confidence, though subtle, made my experience that much more comfortable and feeling secure that I was getting the best care possible.
