"I believe nurse Kristie went way above normal nursing care. She took it upon herself to ensure that I got the best care possible at SGMC."
I once thought heroes wore capes, but I was wrong; they wear scrubs. During my stay in the hospital, there were many times that I wasn't sure I was going to make it through the day. One of those times my nurse, Kristi Andros, came to my rescue. It was on a weekend when one of my Doctors came in and assessed my situation and medical care. We discussed procedures that were going to be performed starting on Monday. After that visit my breathing became more labored. Nurse Kristi discussed her concerns with a Doctor on the floor and thought I needed more care by relocating me to another room in the Dasher Heart building.

After discussing the situation with the Doctor, she brought her Nurse Manager and Charge Nurse into my room to assess me. They saw my condition had gotten worse and they made the decision to move me to the Dasher building. I believe nurse Kristie went way above normal nursing care. She took it upon herself to ensure that I got the best care possible at SGMC. Four days later, she came to see how I was doing. That showed me she really cares about her patients. This brings me to why I now believe heroes not only wear capes and costumes, but they also wear scrubs and a white coat.
