The whole staff did a great job while my wife was in the emergency room. It would normally be very difficult to pick one good nurse out of your staff; however, I believe Kristen went above and beyond in work ethic, patience, and professionalism.
First, my wife was having chest pains. Kristen took charge as soon as my wife was in the room. She was not pushy or bossy, yet she got my wife comfortable and ran the EKG without any wasted steps. She was cheerful and upbeat and kept my wife smiling despite her situation. When giving information, Kristen was direct, to the point, and honest.
Second, on the other side of the shared room was a teenage boy who was acting up and yelling how he hated hospitals, doctors, and nurses. Kristen was able to be patient with him and talk him down while doing her job. After he left, she was smiling, and it did not seem to phase her at all.
Third, after all her work was caught up in my wife's room, I saw Kristen asking another nurse if she needed help in her room. When the nurse replied, "There are two of us back there," Kristen's response was, "Well then I'll go help and we can all get it done together." It was very nice to see a positive, happy professional at work. I have relayed this story to all my family and friends.
If I or my family have to use the emergency room in the future, Kristen's work ethic and attitude will be the bar for all others. Thank you for this experience.
