Kimmy is a genuinely kind and compassionate nurse. She takes time for her patients to make sure they feel welcomed, respected, and safe. Kimmy is always very helpful and a positive face on the floor. She always has a smile and is an excellent mentor.
There was a time when we had an elderly woman with dementia who was very scared and lonely. That day after spending time with the patient and speaking to the family, Kimmy discovered that the patient liked to crochet. Kimmy then texted the nurses coming onto shift to see if anyone had crochet supplies. Luckily, someone did! Kimmy's thoughtfulness connected a distressed patient with her favorite hobby and helped keep her calm enough to receive care.
Kimmy's approach to patient care is led by the kindness and genuine interest in who her patients are as people. Kimmy connects with patients and exemplifies what it means to be a "DAISY" nurse!
