Come to find out Kim drove about a mile away and parked in a parking lot to do paperwork, knowing that I would be calling.
My wife was placed in Hospice care. Kim was the Hospice nurse who came to my house the next morning and sat down with my two sons, daughter, and myself. She talked about plans for my wife and listed the medications that would be used for her comfort. She took time to explain and listened and answered all our questions. She was compassionate and very attuned to what we all were feeling. She stayed as long as she was needed. She tended to my wife, made her comfortable, and emptied the bag that was releasing bile from her liver.

When she came Friday morning, Kim realized a dramatic change from Wednesday and told us she would be coming three times a day instead of three times a week. She came back later that afternoon and told us that the time would not be long. She received permission from the doctor to increase her morphine to make my wife more comfortable. After she left it wasn’t more than twenty minutes that I called her back to let her know my wife had passed. Come to find out Kim drove about a mile away and parked in a parking lot to do paperwork, knowing that I would be calling. Kim did, as far as my family is concerned, everything right. She worked from love of her position, and compassion for all the people around her.
