Keighly listened to my husband and took his concerns into account and didn’t dismiss him.
My husband when into cardiac arrest. He went on ECMO, impella, and transitioned to LVAD. We were overwhelmed with one surgery after the next. Each one causing additional stress and concerns and a lot to learn. Keighly spent 3 plus days caring for my husband during the day. She sat in his room the entire time where others sat outside. She was expressing safety first and in everything she did, she walked me through the process. No one ever expects this to happen. So when it does it is a shock. The tubes, hoses, IVs were everywhere. She was always checking them, staying organized and prepared for anything. When you are watching your husband, lay in bed mostly not able to communicate as a spouse it was overwhelming and exhausting. She always reassured me about everything she did and explained the doctors orders and addressed concerns quickly. When the other staff came in to do things, she was very attentive to what they were doing to ensure it did not compromise her patient and didn’t mind stepping in quickly to assist. Her confidence and calm nature are very calming. She listened to my husband and took his concerns into account and didn’t dismiss him even when he didn’t make a lot of sense. He could be frustrating and she handled each situation with poise and kindness even when he wasn’t. We will forever be grateful for her care and attention to him and his needs and healing.
