Our mother had been treated at AdventHealth numerous times. However, the last stay ended with Hospice. Kathleen made mom's last days as peaceful as possible and filled with dignity. As the nursing staff switched from active care to Hospice care, she went above and beyond. She visited mom's room every hour to check on her and our family. She didn't just show up to dispense meds or check for signs of approaching death.
Kathleen's compassion and dignity of care were far superior. She showed compassion and respect to all of us. One thing she said that I will never forget, "When your mom passes, I would give tears of joy that she has gone to heaven." Although we miss mom, our beliefs do comfort us. We do know that mom is no longer suffering from dementia and is trying to find dad, her parents, and even her dog. She is no longer in pain or having symptoms that were never cured. Kathleen hit the nail on the head when said to cry tears of joy when mom passed because she was going home to heaven for peace and everlasting life.
