Ju kindly came in before her shift was over and gifted me with a set of 3 notebooks: 1 book for my goals, 1 book for my gratitude list, and 1 book to write about reflections of myself. I cried happy tears because she heard me; she showed me she was listening to me.
I was admitted to a medical unit in the hospital for medical complications. Of course, I was alone and scared and had been crying when I was greeted by RN Juhyeon (Ju). She immediately asked if I was okay. She took the time to listen and hear me out. She reassured me that I was okay and in good hands.

It was Memorial Day weekend, and I was so sad and heartbroken because I wanted to be with family. I wasn't sure what was going on. Medically, I was feeling depressed. But, again, Ju took the initiative to keep coming into my room to check on me and always made sure I had everything I needed, kept me comfortable, and reassured me.

The compassion and attentiveness she showed and gave to me really made a difference. Just knowing that she cared and listened to me made my whole stay better. I kept asking her for a paper to journal, and she had no problem bringing me paper to write on.

I cried to her, telling her I really wanted to change my life and become sober from alcohol. She kept reminding and reassuring me that anything was possible and that she believed in me, which made me believe it. "YOU CAN DO IT" is what she kept telling me. And she told me never to give up.

At the end of the weekend, she kindly came in before her shift was over and gifted me with a set of 3 notebooks: 1 book for my goals, 1 book for my gratitude list, and 1 book to write about reflections of myself. I cried happy tears because she heard me; she showed me she was listening to me. Some nurses come to work to make a difference; this was Ju. She made a difference in my life. Ms. Ju is an angel. Thank you.
