He shared he liked the same music as my mom and would dance in the room to encourage her. It made us feel like he cared for Mom like a family member.
Joe took care of my mom while she was battling COVID. She was placed on a vent and was in the ICU for 13 days. Every time we called it was a huge relief to see Joe was working with her. Joe took the time to make sure we were informed, which I know is difficult with how quickly things could change. He also made sure to learn things about my mom so he had things to talk to her about when he was in the room. He was always real with us and made sure we understood how critical mom was. He would also always make sure we would celebrate the progress, even when it was small. He was with us on an emotional roller coaster and I don't think he realized how much strength he gave us and our mother. He shared he liked the same music as my mom and would dance in the room to encourage her. It made us feel like he cared for Mom like a family member.

When talking to my grandparents about Mom's progress and the care that she was getting from nurses they realized that Joe was also someone who took care of my grandpa when he was in the ICU about two years ago. The way my grandma lit up when she realized it was the same Joe, shows how good of a nurse he was for our family. We have relied on him during this process, and he went the extra mile for patients.

Thank you, Joe. You've done so much for my family in these last few weeks I hope you the best. Thank you, OSF for having some of the best staff and for taking care of my mom. I will be thinking of everyone there during this horrible pandemic. You guys have so much strength and motivation, thank you, and keep fighting.
