John Rice is a remarkable young man, a credit to his profession due largely, I believe because he has a heartfelt interest in the patients he sees.
I have come to know John Rice to be a consummate medical professional as he attends to me on my visits to Dr. J’s VA office. Always well-groomed and professionally attired. Nurse John projects competence as he performs his tasks unhurriedly, smiling and chatting as he moves about, obviously enjoying his work. My medical concerns have been heard. John and I find ourselves talking about our life experiences and our families, especially our delight in our children. John Rice is a remarkable young man, a credit to his profession due largely, I believe because he has a heartfelt interest in the patients he sees.

Nurses are modern superheroes. They put others before themselves, acting selflessly to help others each and every day. I want to recognize John “DOC” Rice. During the Pandemic, DOC kept in touch with me and helped me get on track with my health. He was able to obtain a walker for me so I could get around a lot better. He also regularly refilled my scripts and set me up with home telehealth. I would forget and DOC always had my six. I feel knowing my medical issues DOC allowed my spouse in the room so we would have her aware of any new or progressing issues discussed with the doctor. DOC would always drop in any treatment room I was in and he personally went out of his way to follow up on new things in our lives and to just say hi and, "How is your family doing?" I feel I’m in better health today because of DOC. Nurses get tired but are tireless, they are human but never lose their humanity. Their healing touch is worth more than a thousand words! DOC thank you for getting me back on track.

I had a serious bout with the flu. John called me every day for an update. He just wanted to know how I was doing. He didn’t have to do that, but he was caring about his patient, and with the number of patients he has, that was above and beyond. He has a great work ethic.

John has always treated me with the utmost respect. He has made himself available to answer my questions and concerns. I had several serious procedures, and he would call my home after I was discharged. He knows his profession very well and he really cares about his patients. He treats them like family.

John has gone above and beyond to assist in my husband’s care. My Husband has had several medical procedures and John would call to check on him to see if we needed anything. He is always available to answer my questions or concerns we have. I believe his actions are proof that he wants only the best for his patients and is very good at his profession.
