Jill validated her feelings by assuring her with an approachable demeanor, kind words and updated her on her plan of care. Jill embodies veracity and compassion daily that enhances patients' experiences.
Jill Panaroni is an incredibly strong role model here on Verdi 3 South. She serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, and a natural leader to all who work with her. To give proper insight into the impact she has on her team, I have asked her past orientees to write about her unique and wonderful influence.
"Jillian embodies the true meaning of nursing; the patient. She works to reduce the tension and lessen the stress that often is displaced on the patient with beneficence. She provides consistent and autonomy of care to patients by ensuring they understand the implications of care. She is the most genuine, diligent worker and provides a level of mentorship that truly is unique and uplifting to the future surgical nurses."
"There are so many attributes about Jill that I don't know where to start. I will start by saying how compassionate she truly cares about her patients and the nurses around her. She goes above and beyond to keep patients comfortable and making the workplace more acceptable for new hires. She is superb in her skill and ability to be a charge nurse and never getting tired with the hectic pace of our unit, she is always on top of 200% accountability. She has this awesome, caring personality and she helps without asking. She always checks on me to make sure I am ok and I am providing the accurate care needed for my patients. Mentor in the unit."
"Jill is someone who demonstrates compassionate care as both a preceptor and charge nurse. She is patient, kind, and caring in her teaching. This applies to her leadership as well. As a charge nurse, she is receptive to any and all questions and I personally never felt like she was unapproachable. She's an outstanding person to work with!"
"I remember rounding a corner during the font load of my shift change, where oftentimes it's most compact and executing patients' needs are most prevalent. I saw Jill through the corner of my eye posed in such a way that signified open communication. Sounds simple, yet just watching her direct eye contact, concerned facial expressions, and tone of voice made me feel comfortable so I can only imagine how the patient felt. I listened for her words that accompanied her open communication pose; but she didn't say much she actively listened to a patient who was upset, frustrated, and lost. Jill validated her feelings by assuring her with an approachable demeanor, kind words and updated her on her plan of care. Jill embodies veracity and compassion daily that enhances patients' experiences."
"This experience inspired me to start my shift daily asking myself, What does my patient have to tell me that I can't get from the chart or hand-off?" As I result, I strive to be comprehensive, not just in nursing, but informative and attentive to listen abundantly as I have observed firsthand with Jill the lasting impact that can have on patients."
"Jill is a fearless leader. She is the type of nurse who jumps right into action without hesitation. She is who you want to be working with when a patient becomes critically ill. She demonstrates a strong sense of confidence and I have seen patients and families appreciate her strength along with her compassion.
