We can't put into words how much we appreciated this nurse’s kindness, competency and thoughtfulness during our hospital visit. From the way this nurse explained everything she was doing (from basics like hand washing and rounding to differential diagnosis and orders from the MD) and was able to empathize with me and my husband. My husband came to the hospital because he had an awful sinus infection/headache that turned into systemic infection/inflammation. We all decided the best course of action was to stay in the hospital for an additional 24 hours for pain control and antibiotics. That nurse got a change in assignment and handed us off to 2 other (really awesome) nurses. A few hours later that nurse poked her head in and talked about how it must be so loud for him with a headache. Even though this nurse wasn't "our" nurse anymore, she cared so much and wanted to help alleviate my husband’s symptoms and arranged for us to get a private room. I am 7 months pregnant and my husband was in tremendous pain. We were tentatively planning for sinus surgery, but my husband got deep sleep and rested so well that he woke up feeling so much better that surgery was off the table and we went home. I couldn't believe that nurse went so above and beyond, particularly when she wasn't even our nurse!
