Jess took the time to clean him up and even clean his whole face.
I have had the pleasure to be with patients under LPN Jess's care. She gives quality time when she's in a room. The first time I met her, I was with a patient with a CPAP machine; he was so weak he could barely move any part of his body. You could see he was trying to communicate but due to his condition, he couldn't. When she came into his room I told her all this. She checked him to make sure he was all right and checked if the CPAP was properly placed and she realized his lips looked so dry and his mouth was so dirty. She took the time to clean him up and even clean his whole face. He couldn't reply to anything but she explained to him step by step what she was doing. In everything she did, she was truly compassionate.

The second time I saw her I was at the telesitter office, I recognized her because she made such a good impression on me. I was monitoring this lady that removed her NG tube 4 times during the day. Jess introduced herself and explained to her why she had the NG tube, why it was needed, how she understood how uncomfortable must be to have it, and why removing it was harmful to her condition, and answered all her questions, and her husband's. During the whole shift, the patient didn't try even once to remove it; she was a high-risk fall patient and whenever she forgot to stay in bed she would redirect when announced and press the call light for help. Jess's the kind of person I'd like to have if I ever have to be in a hospital.
