Needless to say, not having the proper material needed to apply my Leg Wraps presented a serious problem which I am happy to report Nurse Jerri was able to overcome by improvising and creating an acceptable alternative.
I have been a patient at the Aurora Kenosha Wound Clinic and have been under the care of one Dr. D whom I had been seeing once every three weeks. During that time, Dr. D frequently changed his order indicating that a different set of medications and/or leg coverings should be applied to the wounds present on both of my legs. After doing so, his staff oftentimes would provide us with a very limited supply of the newly prescribed material(s) which were to now be used as he had specified in his Revised Order. It then became the responsibility of our Ascension at Home Nurse Jerri Alvarado to properly interpret the newly Revised Order, and (most importantly) format and submit a request to have an adequate supply of the different materials delivered to my home, on a timely basis.

Unfortunately, there once was a period of time in which Ascension at Home had changed vendors responsible to ship all of their supplies, and this change resulted in delivery times skyrocketing from two business days to all the way out to 15 days or more! Needless to say, not having the proper material needed to apply my Leg Wraps presented a serious problem which I am happy to report Nurse Jerri was able to overcome by improvising and creating an acceptable alternative.

In my case, she now had been directed to apply Four Layer Bilateral Wraps after having applied Medihoney Alginate to my open wounds. Not having a supply of the required Four Layered Wraps, Jerri was able to utilize Tubi Grips combined with some Three-Layered Wraps which she found to wrap both of my legs as had been ordered. She continued to improvise in this manner implementing this type of temporary solution six different times while we waited patiently for the proper supplies to arrive, which they eventually did weeks later.

In addition, on several occasions, Jerri has contacted my Primary Physician's Office immediately whenever I had been in need of either an order to authorize doing a UTI Urine Analysis and a Culture or to obtain much need Prescriptions for Antibiotics. As of this writing, I am happy to be able to say that all of my Open Leg Wounds have been healed. And Jerri's constant monitoring of my ever-changing condition along with her ability to react positively in a Professional Manner to my needs has most certainly contributed to my greatly improved condition. For that, I am very grateful.

Note: This is Jerri's 3rd DAISY Award!
