I want to let you know that my son had a terrific experience at CHKD. I want to pass along my appreciation for the terrific teamwork and I would like to specifically mention one of your nurses, Jason. Jason is an extraordinary member of your team. He immediately put my anxious son at ease and had a wealth of experience with every issue, detail, and question. He tirelessly worked through adjusting my son's pain medicines like a pro. I now understand that Jason gets all that energy from his inner passion for helping kids. We may have worn him out with all of our questions and concerns, but you would never have known it.

While the surgery went well and recovery was uneventful, my son had a very rocky start adjusting to his medications. Jason devoted generous time and attention to solve the problem. Jason's compassion, nursing wisdom, and support were greatly appreciated.

Nurse Jason was the best nurse I had. He would ask me questions about school and my future. One day he asked about what I wanted to be in the future. I told him either a Veterinarian or a Chef. He joked about how I could take care of the animals then cook them. That was one of my favorite times at CHKD.

Jason is the sweetest nurse I've met out of all the nurses that assisted my daughter (fun, full of energy, funny). He was a joy! He brings warmth to children.

There are many cards that go through this hospital—cards scribbled with crayons, drawings of stick figures made by little hands, even generously written cards of thanks by parents. Jason has a collection of these, and all for the right reasons. Jason's ability to deliver the most heartfelt care is evidenced by the smiles, kind words, and laughter that replace the anxiety of people who walk into the doors of CHKD. It is no wonder why so many families have consistently described him with one word: 'Jolly'. Jolly Jason!
Jason says, "I want to give the patients the best kind of care I can give them." These are more than just spoken words—they are words that fuel Jason to keep on pushing to give his best. Just as Superman carries the letter "S" on his chest, Jason carries the letters "RN" like a true hero for the patients, serving them to the best of his ability despite the how rough the day can get. Jason is a hero for these kids, and we are so proud that he is one of our own.
