Jasmine was receptive to the constant change
Jasmine Nicholas is a quiet leader who leads by example. Before Covid, I had the utmost respect for her. Then, once Covid came, my respect for her grew even more. Overnight, her unit became the epicenter of Covid and she transformed her unit and team.
Jasmine was receptive to the constant change and pace that Covid brought. She was there from sunup to sundown learning all things Covid, helping her team and the patients as they were there. She worked with every department in the hospital to assure her unit was Covid ready. She worked with her team so they were confident in the care they were providing. All of these changes while always having a welcoming smile and high expectations for care on her unit.
Jasmine never let anything bring her team down. She was creative to keep morale high! She spent extra time with her team to make sure they felt safe. And she spent hours orienting other teams as they came to her unit to assure those teams felt safe in a new Covid environment. She sat with her team and openly talked about challenges and opportunities. She worked with leadership to advocate for her team as well.
Jasmine leads by example. Her door is always open to lend a listening ear. Jasmine listens without passing judgment. She has often been seen on the nursing unit helping the team with their patients as well. She is never too busy to lend a helping hand, to teach a nurse how to do a skill, or to help change a patient.
Jasmine is a dynamic leader.
