Jaleen has answered all questions, offered suggestions and advice which has been very helpful and calmed my anxiety as well.
My son got a bad knee surgery last night. He was left alone to rest at first but in the morning Jaleen was assigned to us. She performed a full head to toe assessment. Something that had not been done before. Everyone has been friendly and given him his meds but being day one after surgery has been tough.
My son's anxiety is high as well as his pain. He lashed out at PT and Jaleen but she stood strong, firm, and professional while educating him and offering compassion. My son is angry with the situation and shows it. She has gone above and beyond to make him and me comfortable.
Jaleen got my son his favorite dinner that he had asked for since arriving here. Which that small act of kindness completely changed his day. He arrived caked in mud, saltwater, and sand in his hair. She brought hygiene supplies so that I was able to clean him up, so he could be comfortable and smelling fresh. As a mother seeing her son in so much pain is hard.
I have many questions, "Is this normal? How can I take him home like this?" Jaleen has answered all questions, offered suggestions and advice which has been very helpful and calmed my anxiety as well. I am a TCH nurse as well and I feel that I can be picky but Jaleen has exceeded all expectations that I have for a nurse for my son. She has shown such respect and kindness even though my son has been extremely difficult to deal with due to pain and anxiety. I feel fortunate to have had her assigned to my son's care.
