"Jackie shows compassion for every patient. In the back (emergency department), she always wears a smile and manages all her patients even when busy. She prioritizes urgent patients and is always calm. Today as Triage nurse, we had a 2 year old come into the lobby who had fallen. He was vomiting and the mom was clearly upset. Jackie came out to check on the patient in the lobby and immediately got him back while remaining calm. Right after that a man was in the car who had broken his hip and she checked on the situation, moving him in front of less urgent patients and assigned him to a room to quickly get him back. The entire time as the Triage Nurse she has been managing the lobby, staying calm, treating her co-workers with respect and providing excellent customer service to all the patients. Jackie is a true professional and a leader as the Triage RN". Written by a Patient Access Staff Member

Addendum: To be noted as a complement to this nomination, "Jackie not only cares for her patients, but has made numerous contributions to staff and family members, showing a genuine concern for her fellow man. There is none more deserving of this humanitarian award for compassion than Jackie. She selflessly creates small treasure chests with inspirational items such as hearts, pendants, and other love tokens of hope and healing. Jackie gives these heartfelt treasures with loving kindness and with a sincere desire to lighten someone's burden from serious illness and trauma. Jackie has proven to be a traditional healer and depicts the character and spirit of an extraordinary nurse." Written by Carol Drayton, RN Supervisor.
