My brother was placed in the Coronary care unit after his operation due to heart failure. Seeing him tied up to so many machines and his vitals being weak, we were at our wits' ends. It felt like these would be his last days. We tried to comfort each other but to what extent? Seeing him on his bed sedated with a breathing tube down his thrown just broke us down. However, seeing nurse Irene take good care of him, checking up on him (I know it’s her job) but brushing his hair back made us feel like we had hope. Like he was a sick patient who only needed looking after to get back up on his feet.

She always greeted us and made sure to keep us updated and assure us she would take utmost care of him. Even assuring us that she will be with him when they transfer him and will make sure she takes the utmost care. It really is comforting knowing she will be with him. I also want to commend all the nurses at the coronary care unit because honestly, they are all compassionate people.
