Ikea graduated recently and oriented on 5W with us. She is an outstanding nurse with such a positive attitude. Every day I round on patients, I always get compliments on Ikea and her gift of being able to read patients' wants and needs extraordinarily well. She is very kind and compassionate at the bedside to all patients.
Recently, Ikea noticed our staffing struggles at night and volunteered to come to nights to help out with patient care. Not only has she switched to nights to better help our staffing needs full time, but she also picks up extra quite a bit. This flexibility has been invaluable to us. When other nurses are struggling, she jumps in frequently to help with med pass or wound care changes. For such a new nurse, she always leads by example. We are blessed to have her on our team.
